Architectural style at The Dunes at
Westport is "Northwest Cape Cod," bungalow, or farm house beach cottages for both dunes; or Northwest cabins
on the forest dunes. To optimize the view from the forest dune lots, we suggest a 3-4 story "tower" type design.
Department of Ecology Shoreline Management limits the height
of buildings on the beach to a maximum of 28 feet from established grade line. That means the beach cottages can be a maximum
of 2 stories high from grade line. In order to provide openess on the beach dune, building widths will be limited to
a maximum of 50% of the lot width. For a 90-foot lot, the building width would be limited to a maximum of 45 feet.
Per Grays Harbor County requirements, the Forest Dune
cottages have a height restriction of 36 feet from the established grade line. Depending on how Grays Harbor County establishes
the grade line and the fact that the Forest Dune lots are sloping downwards towards the ocean, it may be possible to build
a 4-story cottage.

house for either dune, and tower designs appropriate for the forest dune.
